Sour cherry and Schisandra bars

Extremely simple, delicious and full of goodness!!

Schisandra is the new superfood that everyone is talking about because of its multiple health benefits, and it’s now available @scoopwholefoods.

✨Praised for giving us more energy, better digestion and skin that’s resilient to the signs of aging! It’s is a medicinal berry with multiple healing properties that has been utilized in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years. It is very high in antioxidants, is a potent anti inflammatory as well as supporting our adrenals helping us deal with stress, and that’s just naming a few benefits.

✨You can pop it in your smoothie, mix it through yoghurt or add to water/juices. But here is a tasty treat with a powerful health boost!

Place in your food processor 4 tbsp melted coconut paste/butter, 1 1/2 cups dried tart cherries, 1 1/2 cups shredded coconut and 2 tsp organic schisandra powder. If you like your treats a bit sweeter, you can also add 1-2 tbsp rice malt syrup. Blend until you have a sticky but still slightly chunky consistency that holds together between your fingers when pressed. Press neatly into a lined 9x9 inch baking tray (I line using my beeswax wrap for easy removal once set). Place in fridge to set for at least 30 mins. Then cut into bars, coat in melted @loving_earth raw chocolate, or chocolate of your choice. I use two forks to coat and then place on greaseproof paper in the fridge to set. Makes 10 bars, and lasts in fridge for at least 2 weeks. Everything you need available @scoopwholefoods of course!!
